Seeking respite from their fast-paced international lives, our clients envisioned a peaceful sanctuary nestled within the native forest of Waiheke. The existing home offered strong foundations but required a complete renovation—both inside and out—to realise its full potential. The brief was to create an off-grid haven immersed in nature, without compromising on the comforts and luxuries of modern living.

Island Interiors reimagined the floor plan to enhance natural flow and establish generous spaces for entertaining. A dedicated guest wing was introduced, offering flexibility for hosting larger gatherings while remaining easily closed off for more intimate living. Finishes were carefully selected to complement the home’s Mediterranean architectural language, while grounding it within the surrounding Waiheke forest landscape.

Layered with natural colours, organic textures, and tactile materials, the home now stands as a tranquil retreat—an authentic sanctuary designed to disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with nature.
